The Islamic art Museum is located on the ground floor of the mosque Kul Sharif. The Museum occupies two halls with a total area of 566 m2. The Museum was opened on 21 February 2006.
The main purpose of the museum is the implementation of scientific, educational, research and educational activities, the identification and acquisition of museum objects and museum collections on the history and culture of Islam and Muslim civilization in the Middle Volga region, their study and public presentation.
In the first room presents themes of the history of religion, the prophets, the origins and fundamentals of Islam, Islam's role in regulating different spheres of life of society, the moral principles of Islam. In the exposition of an interesting range of items for prayers – prayers – prayer Mat, compass to find the direction to Mecca, the rosary, the layout of the Kaaba, numerous instances of manuscripts and printing of the Quran, published at different times and in different places of the planet.
In the second hall in chronological order to learn about the Islamic civilization of the Middle Volga, about the role of Islam in the history and culture of the Tatar people. The exposition silver coin with Arabic ligature different countries and periods, picture – reconstruction of the mosque in the Bulgars, a copy of the prose writings of the Golden Horde writer Mahmoud Bulgari "Nahj al Paradis". Here are exhibited portraits of W. Mardjani, and Kursawe.
Of particular value is the book of W. Mardjani in Arabic: an introduction to the book "The Obvious truth about the virtues of faith," 1889 edition with the personal stamp of the author. The most interesting are the pictures and the books of scholars, theologians, educators, baroudi, R. Fakhrutdinova, A., Maksudi, H. Kamali, , diamonds, M. Begieva; textbooks and lesson schedules madrasah. The Central place in the hall occupies the relative interior of the Cabinet educator. He recreated the furniture, objects, books of the era in which they lived Tatar educators.
The exhibition also presents materials about tatarko – Muslim women of the late XIX – early XX centuries, about their struggle for secular education, for freedom and equality – pictures, books, documents, before the revolution number of the women's magazine "Suyumbike". Here visitors have the opportunity to see women's costume of a wealthy lady of the late nineteenth century. The spread of Islam in the Volga region and contributed to the flourishing cultural level and literacy of the people, the approval of the high ideals of morality and ethics.
