Museum of history of statehood of the Tatar people and the Republic of Tatarstan, located in the ancient center of the Kazan Kremlin, brought together a memorial territory of the Khan's court with preserved to the present day power functions, the necropolis of the kazan rulers and the symbol of Kazan – Syuyumbike tower. The museum tells the story of ethnogenesis and formation of statehood of the Tatar people and their ancestors. Chronology of exposure exceeds two thousand years. The ancestors of the Tatar people took part in the creation of powerful empires of ancient and medieval times, as Hun Power, Grand Turk Empire, Bulgaria in Sea of Azov, Volga Bulgaria, Jochi Ulus (Golden Horde), the Kazan Khanate, and the second half of the XVI century history of the Tatars was continued in the Russian state.
The exposition of the museum includes a number of items of a special historical value as evidence of the high development of the state and culture of the Turks. Among them are found in the territory of the Kazan Kremlin unique Czech coin of X century, which, together with a set of findings X – XI centuriesis a justification of the millennial age of Kazan; masterpiece of the jeweler's art of the XIII century – the golden pendants in the shape of ducks, which embodies the ancient Turkic story about the origin of the world. Interesting and many others authentic items presented in the exhibition – evidence of high material culture of the Volga Bulgaria, the Golden Horde and the Kazan Khanate. One of the goals of the museum is to promote knowledge of the history of the Tatar people. For this purpose employees of the museum organized exhibitions, guided tours and museum studies. In the museum works Club of the amateurs of intellectual games "Divankhana" held meeting of the club of board games "Tesseract" club game of Go. Museum offers cultural – educational programs, classes in the form of games and master – classes.
