National art gallery "Hazine" was established in 2005 as a branch of the state Museum of fine arts of the Republic of Tatarstan,it is located in the building of the former Junker school of the Kazan Kremlin. Its opening was timed to the anniversary of the founding of Kazan. In gallery "Hazine" are exhibited exactly two thousand works of art from the Museum collection, which most fully reflect the period of historical and cultural development of the city.
The most famous paintings of the artists are exhibited in three halls of the gallery, whose names are directly related to the Kazan art school G. A Medvedev, I. A. Denisov, P. P. Benkov, P. A. Radimov and some others. Gallery "Hazine" is the best reflects the stages of the development of national fine art in the 20 – th century, which are reflected in the paintings of Nikolai Kuznetsov, Andrey Prokopyeva, Sergey Livina and Nicholas Indjukova. Several of the gallery exposition are devoted only to works of one of the largest Kazan painters – Nikolay Feshin.
In addition to paintings and drawings in the gallery displays sculptures and objects of applied art, which most clearly traced cultural and ethnic peculiarities.
