The museum was opened on 25-th of June, 1993. It is located in a two storyed building, which was built in 1904 by the architect F. F. Llonga and is a historical monument. It represents a farmyard outbuilding included once in the complex of buildings of the club of Society of employees in government and public institutions, popularly known under the name of "new" or "officer" of the club(the Theatre of drama and Comedy named after K. Tinchurin). In one of the apartments of this house since 1930 till 1954, with some interruptions, he lived and created his best works of the composer, Salikh Saidashev (1900-1954).
Salih Saidashev Zamaletdinova is the outstanding Tatar composer, founder of the Tatar professional music, educator, people's artist of TASSR. It is considered to be the creator of a new Tatar national art music drama. The Saidashev is one of the first Tatar professional conductors, pianist, author of music for performances of Tatar state academic theater named after G. Kamala (60 performances).
The museum has exhibition halls and a music room, where meetings and musical evenings. The exposition of the museum tells the story of the S. Saidashev as the successor of a rich centuries-old traditions of the Tatar musical culture, and at the same time, the innovation of his work, which consists in connecting talented national folklore traditions with the experience of European classical music. In the fund of museum there are pictures of S. Saidashev, phono and record, audio and videotapes, sheet music, musical instruments, household items. Original artistic solution of the exposition helps the visitor to understand the era, the stages of the biography and the most striking artistic achievements of the composer with the position today. The most memorable items in the museum are the installations devoted to the most famous music works of the composer – "The Blue shawl", "Recruiters", "March of the Red Army."
