The exhibition called the Art of Crimean Tatars is to be opened on October 16, 20013 at 16.00 at the branch office of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan – National Arts Gallery ‘Khasine’.
The exhibition is organized by the State Museum of Fine Arts and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. A significant contribution has been made by Nizami Ibraimov, a collector from Moscow, and the Mardjani Foundation for Support and Development of Research and Cultural Programs.
The exhibition the Art of Crimean Tatars consists of three sections. The first section includes more than a hundred works of decorative and applied arts and unique photographs of the 19th century from the collection of Nizami Ibraimov. The second section presents engravings by I.I. Shishkin, K. Bogaevskiy and other artists from the collections of GMII RT. These works reflect the uniqueness of the Crimean peninsula. The third section displays works of contemporary art of the Crimea such as jewellery, embroidery, weaving, porcelain, reconstruction of the national costume of Crimean Tatars. Also there are remarkable pictures and drawings that tell us about tragic history of the people and their Homeland.
The exhibition will begin in the halls of the 3rd floor and continue one month.
